One of the 7 Tests of Advantaged Thinking is to hold the same dreams for young people living in supported housing as you would for your own family. Newhaven Foyer is doing just that by teaming up with WildTrails to take a group of 16-25-year-olds on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to India.
The objective of this trip is to engage with local communities and offer a challenging, rewarding experience that might not otherwise be available to young people experiencing homelessness.
To get there, Newhaven are running a fundraising campaign. Vicky Hoskins, Projects Manager at Newhaven, says: “The project aims to offer young people experiencing homelessness, coupled with complex needs, an opportunity otherwise not available.
"They will experience Delhi and Agra and then embark on a journey through to the foothills of the Himalayas where they will engage with local communities and a local school. Key skills will be developed both emotionally and practically including a focus on physical health, emotional wellbeing, team leading, developing resilience and effective communication.
"Any support with this campaign would be hugely appreciated, to make our venture become a reality.”

We wish Vicky and the team all the very best of luck in this exciting Advantaged Thinking adventure!
