Sheffield City Council

Service Overview:

Sheffield Foyer offers a 64 bed project for 16-25 year olds, owned by Guinness partnership. Opened in 1997, Sheffield Foyer was converted from an old people’s home. It is a short distance from the city centre by tram with a stop immediately outside the Foyer. The service is integrated within its local community, who actively participate in annual summer and Christmas fayres.

The 60 bedsits include 12 that were equipped to house pregnant women and parents with babies up to the age of 6 months. The Foyer offer also includes access to 4 one-bedroom flats located in the city centre for residents to move into when they find employment. The building benefits from lots of space, including training, office and meeting facilities, a gym and games room for residents, a life skills cooking space, a wellbeing space and an IT suite. There is an attractive garden space outside, which has been developed with the involvement of young people.
