Young residents from YMCA Derbyshire are reaping the rewards of their involvement in a Working Assets programme delivered by the Foyer Federation and funded by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

The programme has seen the young people take part in practical work experience at their local Burnaston Toyota Plant, effectively developing their skills and talents in the Automotive sector and giving them the confidence to make a smooth transition towards a thriving adulthood.

David Finn, business development manager at the YMCA, said:

“The programme has produced so many positive outcomes for the residents who took part. For some it has been the catalyst to move into learning, while for others it has focused them on a career path that realistically matches their qualifications and attributes. They are all better prepared for the work environment and have significantly improved their confidence and self-esteem.”
