Here at the Foyer Federation we love getting out and about to see our members! So we decided to get into the Christmas spirit early by holding member-only events in Manchester and London in November. These events were an extra opportunity for members to mingle beyond their quarterly regional network meetings and to find out more about our training packages.
Members were introduced to our health, employability, leadership and Being Advantaged Thinking training packages. We developed these packages to support Foyers to deliver a high quality service to young people in their transition to independent adulthood.
Over the course of the day, members had the opportunity to try out activities from each of the resource kits. These activities included practicing coaching conversations, using a template to map life goals and exploring their own definition of leadership. The day was rounded up by delving into each Foyer’s employability offer, working in pairs to celebrate strengths and identify areas that need to be refreshed.
It was a great day! Members told us they left inspired, full of positive energy and reinvigorated by everyone’s passion for working with young people, as did we!A BIG thanks to all of our amazing members who came along and made these days such a success.
The team here at the Foyer Federation always love to connect with our members and hear about the work they are doing in shaping the futures of young people.
Reminded me why we do what we do Great day, valuable thinking time
Our training packages are comprised of resource kits and staff training days. They have been informed by years of experience of working with our members through programmatic work and sharing of best practice.
