The Money for Life Challenge are offering free, fully funded accredited financial capability courses for those working or volunteering in the not-for-profit sector.

The courses are perfect for anyone interested in leading money management sessions or getting involved in mentoring others in financial capability. For staff or volunteers already offering money management advice or sessions the courses are a fantastic way to get an accredited qualification and access to excellent money management resources. The courses are part of Lloyds Banking Group’s award-winning Money for Life programme: www.moneyforlife.org.uk.

Teach Others

Teach Others is a two-day course completed over two weeks, plus a written assignment, which will focus on how to deliver financial capability sessions rather than what to deliver. Learners who complete the course will gain the confidence and facilitation skills to deliver successful workshops and short learning programmes to their work-based target groups.  Teach Others is a nationally recognised Level 3 OCN qualification.

Course dates:

Day 1: 3th March 2015                                                  Day 2: 17th March 2015                                  

The course will take place in a central London location and lunch is provided.  Both days of the course are 9.30am – 5pm.

Money Mentors

Money Mentors is a two-day course completed over one week, plus a written assignment, where you learn how to give one-to-one money management support. Learners will improve their confidence communicating with people and develop the skills and knowledge to be an effective mentor.  Money Mentors is a nationally recognised Level 2 OCN qualification.

Course dates:

Day 1: 10th February 2015                                             Day 2: 17th February 2015

Day 1: 5th March 2015                                                    Day 2: 12th March 2015

The course will take place in a central London location and lunch is provided.  Both days of the course are 9.30am – 5pm. We also run Teach Others and Money Mentors courses in-house for organisations.  If you have 12 – 14 people who you think would be interested in this training please get in touch with: gemma.piggott@nsafs.co.uk.

Teach Me

Teach Me is an online series of topics designed to improve knowledge of money management.  The resources are free to access and open to all and include the following topics; financial exclusion, planning and budgeting, banking, debt, insurance, universal credit, advice vs guidance and the adult financial capability framework.  There is also the opportunity to gain an OCN (level 3) qualification by completing a series of assignments based on the topics.
